"You're back from the war now. Why don't you forget about it and move on." Every veteran has heard this when they returned from a war zone. And every veteran will tell you - it just doesn't work that way.
We are Friends of Wounded Warriors KC, and we're very passionate about giving back to our nation's service members - the few who fight to protect the freedom of our country. Many of these inspiring service men and women have lost limbs, suffered disfiguring burns or paralysis, or are living with terrible challenges caused by traumatic brain injuries or post-traumatic stress disorder. Because they've risked everything for us, we're committed to raising awareness and funds for these wounded veterans and their caregivers.
To achieve that goal, we're proud to host the 6th Annual "Support Our Wounded Veterans" Golf Tournament at Minor Park Golf Club, 11215 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. You can choose to play on either Saturday, August 12 or Sunday, August 13, 2023. The Tournament will begin with a Shotgun Start at 8:00 AM each day, and be played in a Scramble Format. There will be fantastic Hole-In-One prizes on both Saturday and Sunday, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd Flight prizes, tee gifts for each player, a raffle with dozens of prizes, and food and beverage for all.
The Tournament will benefit an organization whose mission is to honor and empower our wounded veterans - The Wounded Warrior Project. Your participation in the last 5 years has contributed tens of thousands of dollars in donations to support life-changing programs that benefit America's injured veterans. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, warriors and their families will never pay a penny for these services. WWP offers 20 holistic programs to wounded service members and their caregivers completely free of charge, and $50 of each entry fee will be designated to help fund the Wounded Warrior Project programs.
You can participate and help our cause in two ways:
First, if you would like to play in the Tournament, registration for the 2023 "Support Our Wounded Veterans" Golf Tournament will begin on June 15, 2023. More details will be available soon. Entry Fees for Saturday, August 12th and Sunday, August 13th will be $125 per player, or $500 per foursome.
