I’ve started a fundraiser to raise money for Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) and was wondering if you would consider making a donation? Your gift will support life-changing programs that empower, employ, and engage America’s injured veterans. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, warriors and their families will never pay a penny for these services.
My good childhood friend suffered the loss of an arm while serving our country. Here is his story .... George Wasek (producer of QRF 2020)
I was a 91B combat medic in the 565th Battalion from 91-95 then private contracting on and off in Syria, Yemen and Saudi Arabia until being injured.
It started with a call to the wounded warriors project which linked me to a VA representative who helped me navigate the VA system and apply for benefits and education that I didn't even know I was entitled to. They also linked me with an organization called "shades of green" who found me a place to live and paid my rent when I was struggling. Once I called they got involved, followed up and made sure I didn't slip through the cracks. It's clear they realized how hard it can be to ask for help, so once you take that step they make sure they don't miss an opportunity that doesn't always present itself. But I certainly don't consider myself in the class of heroes that wounded warrior project would normally be dealing with.
