Joseph Del Ferro enlisted into the Army in 1960 and retired 20 years later as Sergeant First Class E-7 with Honors.  While deployed in Vietnam, he was injured and shipped home,. Because of his time in Service he also met his wife and life partner Ucci while stationed in Italy, had children who were raised while living at Army bases, met lifelong friends and developed the skills for his career in Environmental Health. His retirement pay helped to support him as he started his second career after retirement.

Always above all, he wore his US Flag and Army Vet pins proudly.  He reached out when he saw another Vet or a soldier to say "hello" and ask how he or she was doing.  And he passionately wanted to help and support those who had been injured serving the country as he too had served.

Joe passed away on Dec. 8, 2020 as a very health 82 year old, having succumbed to the impact of Covid 19.   He wasn't done living his life, serving his country and giving to all those around him.   We hope he can now rest in peace after an amazing journey well traveled, leaving his love, joy and inspiration within all he touched.
